Last week, sixth form students were joined by Year 10 Triple Science students at Bryanston School for the Science Society Lecture.
The talk was presented by Dr Ian Mabbett, Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Swansea and included the development of new solar energy capture and storage technologies.
Students found out how new chemical compounds developed in 2014, are being put to use in test projects as an alternative to conventional silicon based solar panels, and how wall coatings can be engineered to absorb and then store heat using salt solution.
The talk also included updates on the projects under test by the SPECIFIC collaboration.
